ULiège conference "Le Grand-Théâtre de Verviers : de multiples regards" (The Grand Theatre of Verviers: multiple perspectives) (in french)

Introduction to the ULiège Grandes Conférences: from September to April, theUniversity of Liège and the City of Verviers invite you to a series of lectures on a variety of themes. Every year, major conferences and university courses punctuate the lives of local residents right in the heart of the city. Everyone is welcome to attend! Meet the professors from the University of Liège and debate topical issues!

"Le Grand-Théâtre de Verviers: de multiples regards" will be given by Jean-François Chefneux, Olivier Bastin (architect Bureau L'Escaut), Paul-Philippe Hick (associate professor at the Faculty of Law, Political Science and Criminology, Director of Embuild), Guénaël Devillet (associate professor at the Faculty of Science, Director of the Segefa), and Audrey Bonhomme (Director of the Verviers Cultural Centre).

Presentation of the conference on Monday 21 October: the restoration of the Grand-Théâtre de Verviers is moving forward, and with it a host of questions. What are the challenges and opportunities of the Grand-Théâtre de Verviers project? What impact will it have on Verviers and the surrounding region? What impact will this exceptional project have on the construction sector? What architectural and cultural projects will be developed there? The conference will bring together a range of players with complementary perspectives to help us find answers. At this Grande Conférence of the University of Liège in Verviers, you will have the chance to listen to and discuss with Olivier Bastin, Architect in charge of the Grand Théâtre du Bureau l'Escaut project, Paul Philippe Hick, Associate at the Faculty of Law, Political Science and Criminology, Director of Embuild, Audrey Bonhomme, Director of the Centre Culturel de Verviers, Guenael Devillet, Director of the Segefa of the University of Liège and Jean-François Chefneux. Olivier Bastin will talk about the history of the Theatre and the potential of the site | Paul-Philippe Hick, about the positioning of the construction sector/ building trades on an emblematic site in Verviers | Guénaël Devillet, about the economic impact on the area of a cultural project such as the Grand-Théâtre de Verviers | Audrey Bonhomme, about the Cultural Project.
