Chapuis – Texts by C. Roger-Claessen, T. Bost & F. de Grave (in french)

12,50

Grégoire-Joseph Chapuis was born in Verviers on 11 April 1761. In the eyes of his fellow citizens, especially the poor, this Verviers figure represented justice and solidarity. A philosopher committed to the ideals of the French Revolution, he was a staunch defender of progress and reform. He died for the independence of civil power on 2 January 1794. Chapuis has now become a myth.

The republication of these three works (dating from 1847, 1878 and 1894) will help to make this Verviers figure better known.
