New Verviers biography – volume 3

15,00

The third volume of the Nouvelle Biographie Verviétoise contains biographical notes on exceptional Verviétois and Disonais, and the Comité Scientifique d’Histoire Verviétoise chose to include Dison in this biographical dictionary because it is clearly an integral part of the Verviétoise agglomeration.

The Verviers Biographies celebrate the people who have shaped the history of Verviers and Dison. This local project aims to preserve collective memory and highlight the unique paths of men and women from the Vesdre region.

Each biography follows precise criteria: the person must have been born in the Verviers area or have played a significant role there. However, exceptions are made when a story is truly worth telling. The collection is therefore open to anyone who has made a lasting mark on the region.

Diverse and inspiring portraits

The Verviers Biographies bring together a wide range of lives: industrial families, artists, athletes, elected officials, and many more. Some profiles stand out for their originality — a rock musician, an antique dealer, a fortune-teller, or even a pigeon fancier.
Each text is written with passion and clarity, offering a lively and well-documented read. The authors rely on thorough local research to convey a human and authentic history.

A living and accessible project

This collective effort reflects the deep attachment to Verviers’ cultural identity. It is aimed at residents, enthusiasts, teachers, and researchers eager to understand the region’s heritage.
The collection continues to grow with new volumes, allowing everyone to rediscover the past through engaging and accessible stories.
