Discover the former capital of the Duchy of Limbourg, whose architectural ensemble is listed as one of Wallonia’s outstanding architectural heritage sites and has been awarded the “Most Beautiful Villages of Wallonia” label. Wander through the narrow, picturesque streets and admire the old stronghold, its magnificent houses in bloom in the summer months and the listed monuments along the way. These peaceful surroundings have nevertheless been the scene of numerous attacks and fires and massive destruction. Push open the door of the old town hall, known as “Arvô”, to discover this rich historical past. Get on your bike and ride along the country lanes through the lush greenery and hedged farmland to the village of Clermont-sur-Berwinne, another of the “Most Beautiful Villages of Wallonia”. This village, in the heart of the Pays de Herve, boasts a rich variety of architecture from different periods. Take a stroll back in time and discover the many tourist attractions: the cobbled Halle square, the imposing listed church, the former 19th-century town hall and the narrow streets and elegant houses. Discover the magnificent medieval village of Limburg, elected "One of the most beautiful villages in Wallonia". A lovely one-kilometre walk in the heart of this ancient Duchy to discover the most beautiful buildings in Limburg.
The architectural ensemble formed by the village of Limbourg was registered on the list of the exceptional real estate heritage of Wallonia on 19 July 1993. In addition, many buildings are individually listed, as well as the pavements of the square and the pavements.
You will be amazed by the remarkable houses, the old Town Hall, the Fountain of the Virgin, the church of Saint-Georges, the castle and more...

The non-profit organisations Maison du Tourisme du Pays de Vesdre and Verviers Ambitions (management and development of Verviers town centre) are delighted to introduce you to the new "Les Illustres verviétois" tourist trail.
Verviers, our wool-making town, is undoubtedly rich in its industrial past, its culture and its famous people... 
With this in mind, historian Freddy Joris, chairman of the Comité Scientifique d'Histoire de Verviers and former director of the Institut du Patrimoine wallon, has written "La Nouvelle Biographie verviétoise", the first three volumes of which give an excellent account of those who have inevitably left their mark on Verviers.
Around thirty of these famous people, "Les Illustres verviétois", are highlighted on a whole series of panels on the fronts of houses and businesses in Verviers.
